The Languages Other Than English Department is a growing and dynamic area within the College.

Programs are outcomes focused with significant links to topics learned in the Society and Environment Learning Area.

In Year 8 students study Indonesian or Japanese. The focus of these courses is communication, with much of the emphasis being on oral and aural skills. Students are encouraged to use language that is relevant to their situation.

A non TEE upper school Indonesian course is also offered. This course attracts many students who see their future in the travel or hospitality industry. Speaking and understanding Indonesian is the focus of this course with the tasks set being highly relevant to the student’s own situation.
