Throughout the ages people have used their ingenuity, creativity and available resources to improve their world. In the new millennium, this trend continues at a frantic pace.  Today's children will need a wide range of skills and knowledge in order to cope with the pace of change in our world.

The Technology and Enterprise department at LJBC aims to help our students to grow into resourceful, creative people who are actively engaged in social and economic change. We hope that our students will be future leaders in a variety of areas as a result of the enterprising attitudes they develop through T&E.

The development of the following key attributes is recognised as crucial in developing Enterprise in students:

  • Initiative
  • Confidence
  • Teamwork
  • Negotiation
  • Cooperation
  • responsibility

Wherever possible, the T&E curriculum is based on real-life challenges in which students are actively involved in the application of their skills, knowledge and resources.  These challenge required application of a broad range of skills and knowledge from both within and outside the T&E Learning Area.

The LJBC T&E department is recognised for its innovation in curriculum design and delivery methodology.  The T&E site provides overviews of all of our programs.  It also contains resources for our students to use, samples of their work and photos of students at work.  There are also profiles of the staff members who facilitate the challenges in which students ‘make it happen’.
