Opening Times

The secondary library is open from 8.30am to 4.30pm Monday to Thursday, 8.30am to 4.00 pm Friday and by special arrangement for Period 0. Please note the library is closed at recess and will close early on some Monday afternoons due to staff meetings.

Student Borrowing Limits

The loan period for primary students is two weeks.
Pre-primary to Year 2 may borrow one book.
Year 3 – 5 may borrow two books.
Year 6 - 7 may borrow three books.

The loan period for secondary students is also two weeks.
Year 8 - 10 students may borrow four items.
Year 11 - 12 students may borrow six items.

Mission Statement

The mission of the LJBC Library is to ensure that students develop critical thinking and problem solving skills through the process of accessing evaluating and applying information. The Library seeks to encourage the growth of ideas the experience of literature and the use of technology within a caring Christian environment.

Library Aims

• To provide a wide range of resources in varying formats to meet the needs of the curriculum
• To offer students a range of learning opportunities which provide strategies to access, evaluate and use information
• To assist teachers with the support they need to develop information literate students
• To develop an interest in reading for enjoyment through programs that allow students to experience different forms of literature
• To provide services and technologies to allow for maximum access to information
• To provide facilities that are flexible and accommodating of students' needs and emerging technologies.
