In addition to a high quality Physical Education curriculum delivered by a specialist PE teacher, Primary children participate in Inter House and Inter School Swimming, Cross Country and Athletics competitions. An after school sporting program for Primary children includes a range of sports selected on a seasonal basis.
LJBC has an extensive Secondary sporting program, fielding some 60 inter school teams each year in a wide variety of sports. LJBC belongs to the Associated and Catholic Colleges (ACC) Sporting association of some 60 independent and Catholic schools, which provides an extensive range of inter school sporting events, as well as elite interstate and overseas sporting team tours.
The local Coastal Associated Schools (CAS) is an after school sporting competition between local independent and Catholic schools. Students can represent LJBC in a range of inter school sporting teams including basketball, cricket, tennis, touch, soccer, netball and volleyball. All students are encouraged to be involved as a player, coach or umpire. The Champion Schools Sport Competition allows senior students to compete against other schools in sports such as rugby, badminton, soccer, football and golf.
LJBC has many elite sportsmen and women in a wide variety of sports. Students selected in a state or national representative team are encouraged to let the HPE department know of their achievements in order to be recognised at the Secondary Sport Assembly. Many LJBC Secondary students have been selected to represent WA or Australia
2018 will see Lake Joondalup Baptist College implement a Sport Awards Night, where students involved in CAS, Interschool Teams and state or national teams, will be formally recognised for their efforts.
