Football Academy

Mission of the Lake Joondalup Baptist College Football Academy (Soccer)
The Lake Joondalup Baptist College Football Academy provides a player-centred environment where students learn to play the LJBC way and become better people. The mission of the LJBC Football Academy is to improve and assist players to help them reach their potential, on their pathway to higher levels of football; developing the whole child for success on and off the field.

There are a number of opportunities for students to display their individual growth as a player through School Sport WA (SSWA), Associated Catholic Colleges (ACC) representation and various other competitions throughout the year. Student athletes will also have an opportunity to represent LJBC in tournaments both locally and potentially internationally, as we continue to develop the program. This exposure will provide our players with opportunities to recognise their goals in the game of Football.

2022 LJBC Football (Soccer) Academy Trial Registration - Registration is now closed
Trial Registration for the LJBC Football Academy is now open for both male and female students in Years 4 - 12 for 2022. LJBC is one of only three official Perth Glory Academy Schools in Western Australia. These trials are open to students not currently enrolled at Lake Joondalup Baptist College. Please note: For current LJBC students the pathway into the Football Academy is via the LJBC Football Development Program.
The trials will take place during Week 10 and 11 of Term 2, 2021 (Monday 21 June – Friday 2 July). Parents/Legal Guardians will be notified of the year group trial date after the Trial Registration closes on Friday 11 June (Week 8).

The Lake Joondalup Baptist College Football Academy Program

The LJBC Football Academy program aims to:
• Develop technique, decision making and positional play (functional game skills)
• Improve game understanding in attack, defence and transition (applying functional game skills in a team context)
• Create a training environment that is both enjoyable and challenging, promoting hard work and self-improvement
• Develop a growth mindset in players, to develop a love of the game and intrinsic motivation.

The LJBC Football Development Program was established in 2020, and is designed to provide a quality training environment where current LJBC students (outside the Football Academy) can supplement their skills with the high-level coaching available through the Football Academy. Students will develop their functional game skills (focusing on individual and team playing principles), as well as benefitting from the embedded values training of the LJBC High Performance Sports Program. These sessions take place once a week before school, during Period 0.

The LJBC Football Development Program is one pathway into the LJBC Football Academy for students who would aspire to do so. Students who are identified in the Football Development Program may be provided with the opportunity to move into the LJBC Football Academy environment on a temporary or permanent basis.
