Bursaries and Scholarships
At Lake Joondalup Baptist College, we encourage our students to strive for excellence, and we seek to nurture and support each one to discover and develop their unique God given gifts and talents, which we hope they will use to positively make a difference in our world.
We are delighted to offer a limited number of academic and music bursaries, which are available to new and currently enrolled students in our secondary school.
From 2023, we will also offer a limited number of Opportunity Bursaries, which have been created to provide opportunities for students for whom we believe would benefit from joining the LJBC community for their education. We encourage applications for the children of past students.
Some Financial Assistance Bursaries will continue to be available for families who are eligible to be considered (criteria apply).
Music or Academic Scholarships
(Available to students in Years 7 to 11)
A limited number of music and academic bursaries are available to existing or new students. A scholarship may be awarded to a student who either displays a high level of ability in music, or who demonstrates sustained academic endeavour and progress. Our expectation is that students will also model a high level of ability and leadership and will be committed to an all-round involvement in the life of the College community, including cocurricular activities.
Applications for 2023 are closed
A limited number of bursaries are available to students who would perhaps otherwise be unable to attend Lake Joondalup Baptist College due to their family’s financial circumstances. All recipients will be expected to display alignment to the values of the College, to be consistent in their endeavour towards their educational pursuit, and to demonstrate their willingness to contribute to the life of the College community, including cocurricular activities.
Financial Assistance Bursary
We understand that families sometimes find themselves in situations where a change in their financial circumstances could not reasonably have been foreseen at the time of entry into the College. The granting of a Financial Assistance Bursary would be subject to a ‘needs assessment’ to be conducted by the College with the family. A Financial Assistance Bursary application may be submitted at any time.
A scholarship and bursary application may also be submitted at any other time and will be retained until an opportunity becomes available. Scholarships and bursaries are awarded by the Principal of Lake Joondalup Baptist College, in consultation with the Executive Manager of Business and Finance and at the discretion of the College Board of Directors. They are non-public, confidential awards and the identity of recipients will not be disclosed in any public forum. Bursaries and scholarships will generally equate to a 25% discount on the total applicable tuition fees and can be up to 50% in exceptional circumstances, at the discretion of the College.
The College’s expectation is that applicants and their families will be able to express and establish their dedication to actively supporting the mission, purpose and values of the College.
*All scholarships operate within the College’s Enrolment Policy and are dependent on enrolment places being available. All external applicants are required to complete a Registration of Interest prior to an application being considered.
How long is each scholarship or bursary valid for?
Music and Academic Scholarships remain for the duration of Secondary school, subject to the criteria/expectations indicated.
